French researchers develop new approach to fighting head and neck cancers
The OnKO • 3T team at the University of Strasbourg, led by Sophie Martin, is among the 54 teams selected for the French National Cancer Institute’s (INCa) PLBIO 2026 programme.
Through its PITEP project, the team will develop a human preclinical platform combining patient-derived organoids with tumor-on-a-chip technologies.
The project aims to identify new photosensitizers and develop photoimmunotherapy strategies to improve the treatment of head and neck cancers.
The researchers will also seek to better understand and overcome the mechanisms underlying treatment resistance, with the aim of reducing the risk of relapse.
This multidisciplinary project will bring together clinicians, researchers, engineers and students, as well as a range of partners. Patients will remain at the heart of the initiative. The post French researchers develop new approach to fighting head and neck cancers first appeared on All PYRENEES.
