Ibiza expands its cultural programme with music, art and heritage

Ibiza will offer a cultural programme in August that goes beyond its internationally known nightlife, combining classical music, contemporary art, heritage events and guided experiences in the historic centre. One of the highlights of the month will be the Nits al Baluard concert series, organised by Ibiza Town Council in the historic Baluard de Sant Pere in Dalt Vila. The programme will continue on 16 August with Quatre mirades musicals, a classical concert exploring different styles and sensibilities within the classical repertoire. The concert will begin at 21:00. The series, which was launched in June, will conclude on 13 September with Viatge musical per Corea i Espanya, performed by Eun Ae Lee and David Alegre. According to the city council, all concerts are held at Baluard de Sant Pere and are designed to combine live music with one of Ibiza’s most distinctive heritage settings. Contemporary art will also feature prominently in Ibiza Town this summer At the Museum of Contemporary Art of Ibiza (MACE), Swiss artist Stefan Brüggemann’s exhibition Cel d’Or is running from 20 June to 15 November 2026. The exhibition forms part of the museum’s current programme of contemporary art in the historic centre. At the nearby Museu Puget, the exhibition Hans Grass, I en la mar, els somnis opened on 3 July and will remain on display until 31 December 2026. The exhibition presents the work and artistic trajectory of Hans Grass, whose practice encompasses painting, sculpture and graphic art. Another exhibition currently presented by Ibiza Town Council is Art i fotografia (1916–2026), dedicated to the work of Ibiza-born artist Chico Prats. The exhibition opened in July and can be visited until 30 August. For visitors interested in the island’s history, the city continues its theatrical tours of Dalt Vila throughout August. The tours depart from Portal de ses Taules and take visitors through the fortified historic district, using theatrical storytelling to recreate aspects of life during the period when the Renaissance walls were built. In August, the tours take place on Fridays and Saturdays at 21:00. Tickets cost €10 for adults, while reduced prices are available for residents, children, students, unemployed people and seniors.
