These days mark the 81st anniversary of the U.S. Air Force’s atomic bombings of the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki In light of pressing global conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East, as well as the threat of new arms races, policymakers and civil society are using this day of remembrance to make a forceful plea for diplomacy, international law, and nuclear disarmament.
