Bajel Projects signs $40m power transmission agreement with Egypt’s EETC

Bajel Projects Limited, a leading power transmission engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) company of the Bajaj Group, has signed an agreement worth more than $40m with the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) to construct two contiguous sections—Lot 1 and Lot 5—of a 500 kV overhead transmission line (OHTL), further strengthening Egypt’s high-voltage electricity network. The agreement was formalised during a signing ceremony held in Cairo in the presence of Indian Ambassador to Egypt Suresh K. Reddy. It was signed by Rajesh Ganesh, Managing Director and CEO of Bajel Projects Limited, and Mona Rezk, Chairperson of the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC), underscoring the strategic importance of the partnership. Welcoming the signing, Ambassador Reddy noted that Bajel is part of the $40bn Bajaj Group and has a strong track record in delivering large-scale infrastructure projects. He said the contract reflects Egypt’s confidence in Indian companies and the quality of Indian products and services, while highlighting the growing cooperation between India and Egypt in the services and infrastructure sectors. The contract falls under the ultra-mega project category, with a value exceeding $40m, and forms part of a flagship national grid reinforcement programme aimed at strengthening Egypt’s high-voltage transmission backbone and enabling reliable power evacuation to support the country’s expanding economic and industrial activities. Speaking at the ceremony, Rajesh Ganesh, Managing Director and CEO of Bajel Projects Limited, said: “Winning these orders is a defining moment for Bajel Projects.
