CARICOM launches “I am Agriculture” video competition for high school students across region
By Zoila Palma:  The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) is inviting secondary schools across the region to participate in its “I am Agriculture: Youth in Agriculture” High School Video Competition, giving students an opportunity to showcase their creativity while highlighting the importance of agriculture. Schools are being challenged to produce a 60-second video that demonstrates why agriculture matters and inspires their communities, countries and the wider Caribbean region. The competition aims to encourage greater youth engagement in agriculture and promote awareness of the sector’s role in the region’s development. Students can compete for cash prizes, with US$1,700 awarded to the first-place winner, US$1,300 for second place and US$1,000 for third place. The competition is open to secondary schools across CARICOM, and entries must be submitted by September 4, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. The first-place prize will be presented during the 20th Caribbean Week of Agriculture, scheduled to take place in Jamaica from September 27 to October 2, 2026.
