Three remanded in $1.76M cannabis case

Three people charged in connection with the seizure of 110.2 kilogrammes of suspected cannabis, valued at an estimated $1 763 200 have been remanded to the Barbados Prison Service (Dodds). Arshad Patel, 33, of Welches Main Road, St Michael; Mariah Chante Shernell Parris, 28, of Harlington, St Philip; and Julian Omar Jemmott, 43, of Edgecliff Gardens, St John, appeared before Magistrate Manila Renee in District ‘A’ Criminal Court #2 on Saturday. The trio were not permitted to plead to the indictable offences of trafficking and importing cannabis, both allegedly committed on June 25.
