Symbol of nation’s courage, pride. Independence Day celebrations at Mound of Glory
The memorial complex, which construction began 60 years ago, is a monument honoring the feat of the soldiers of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Belarusian Fronts and the 1st Baltic Front in the 1944 Belarusian offensive operation Bagration, which led to the defeat of the Nazi’s Army Group Center.
