Smartwings Adds Two New European Destinations From Prague

Starting this winter, travelers flying from Prague will have two more direct destinations to choose from as Smartwings adds regular services to Bergen in Norway and Venice in Italy. The airline announced that the new connections will become part of its 2026/2027 winter schedule, with flights to Venice beginning on October 22 and the Bergen route launching on October 26. Passengers heading to Venice will be able to fly four times a week, with departures scheduled on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The route is expected to appeal to both weekend travelers and tourists visiting one of Italy’s most popular cities. A few days later, Smartwings will introduce direct flights to Bergen, Norway’s second-largest city and one of the main gateways to the country’s famous fjords. The route will operate twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays, providing Czech travelers with a direct link to western Norway without the need for connecting flights. According to Michal Váňa, Sales Director at Smartwings, expanding the airline’s regular network remains a long-term priority. “We continue to strengthen Prague’s air connections with attractive European destinations. Bergen and Venice rank among the most popular tourist locations, and we believe these direct flights will be welcomed not only by passengers from the Czech Republic but also by international visitors travelling to Prague,” he said. The expansion goes beyond the two newly announced destinations. As part of its winter schedule, Smartwings will also begin flying directly from Prague to Lisbon from October 23. In addition, the airline will increase frequencies to Porto, Bilbao, and Toulouse, where flights will rise from two to three per week. Another change concerns Nice, which will no longer be served only during the summer months. The French Riviera destination will become part of Smartwings’ winter timetable as well.
