EIA data: Iraq ranks 6th largest oil supplier to US
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – Iraq climbed to sixth place among the largest crude oil suppliers to the United States last week, with its export volumes averaging 107,000 barrels per day (bpd), according to the latest statistical weekly release from the US Energy Information Administration (EIA).
The weekly data shows a substantial week-on-week rebound for Iraqi barrels arriving at American refineries, jumping from a baseline of just 43,000 bpd recorded during the previous tracking period.
The EIA statistical brief outlines a clear hierarchy among international suppliers, with North American and Latin American producers continuing to dominate the volume baselines:
Canada: Firmly maintained its position at the absolute top of the index, exporting a massive 3,986,000 bpd.
Venezuela: Secured the second spot, delivering an average of 577,000 bpd.
Colombia: Followed in third place with an import average of 154,000 bpd.
Mexico: Ranked fourth, dispatching 151,000 bpd to US ports.
Saudi Arabia: Captured the fifth position, averaging 145,000 bpd and leading Middle Eastern suppliers just ahead of Iraq.
Iraq: Positioned sixth globally at 107,000 bpd, showing the highest percentage growth week-on-week among the top tier.
At the tail end of the monitored weekly ledger, Ecuador registered modest exports to the US market averaging 40,000 bpd, closely followed by Brazil, which rounded out the active list at 34,000 bpd.
Notably, the EIA data highlighted a complete halt in transatlantic deliveries from two major African OPEC producers, as both Nigeria and Libya recorded zero barrels exported to the United States during this specific seven-day tracking window, underscoring volatile weekly shifts in global maritime oil routing.
