Historian explains whether World War Two could have been avoided
At dawn on 22 June 1941 Nazi Germany, in violation of the non-aggression treaty, launched a war against the USSR. Hitler planned to end it by winter but failed to consider a number of factors that ultimately led to his defeat. One of the main factors was the morale of the Soviet people.
