Helsinki’s Allas Sea Pool set for demolition

One of Helsinki’s best-known waterfront attractions will be demolished as part of a redevelopment of the city’s South Harbour area, with plans already underway for a replacement facility on the same site. The decision affects Allas Sea Pool, the seawater spa and leisure venue next to Helsinki Market Square that has operated since 2016. Nordic Urban, the property development company behind the project, said the current structure will be removed to allow work on the harbour’s flood protection system and waterfront wall.
