No heatwaves in Egypt during Eid al-Adha

Manar Ghanem, a member of the Egyptian Meteorological Authority’s (EMA) media center, stated that the weather during Eid al-Adha will be stable and spring-like. Temperatures in Greater Cairo are expected to range between 30°C and 32°C, which is below the average typical for this time of year. Speaking on Extra News channel on Tuesday evening, Ghanem added that no heatwaves are anticipated throughout the Eid holiday period. She explained that the coastal governorates along the Mediterranean will experience the mildest conditions, with temperatures ranging between 25°C and 27°C. Meanwhile, Upper Egypt governorates will record the highest values, averaging 37°C to 38°C, making the weather very hot during the daytime in southern Upper Egypt. Ghanem noted that the nighttime and early morning hours will bring mild to relatively cool weather, with minimum temperatures dropping to 19°C–20°C in Cairo and around 17°C in new cities, accompanied by wind activity that will enhance the pleasant feel of the air. She further pointed out that the chances of rainfall are minimal and limited to certain parts of the northern coast. She emphasized that the weather will be sunny during the day and perfect for outdoor activities and outings. However, she advised citizens to wear light clothing during the day and warmer layers at night, especially in new cities and open areas.
