Democratic primary results from May 19
On May 19 Alabama Democrats went to the polls to select their candidates for the November 3 general election. The big winner was former Senator Doug Jones who bested a half dozen prominent Democrats in his bid to be the Democratic nominee for Governor of Alabama. Jones had 286,612 votes.
