Netanyahu orders intensified Israeli attacks against Hezbollah in Lebanon
Benjamin Netanyahu said Monday he had instructed the Israeli military to intensify attacks against Hezbollah in Lebanon.
In a video statement, Netanyahu said Israeli operations against Hezbollah would not decrease and would instead expand in both intensity and scope amid ongoing regional tensions.
The Israel Defense Forces said it had targeted Hezbollah infrastructure in the Bekaa Valley and other areas across Lebanon.
Israeli Channel 12 reported, citing a senior official, that Israel had decided to carry out a “large-scale attack” against Hezbollah positions inside Lebanon.
Meanwhile, Israeli broadcaster Channel 14 reported that Netanyahu and Israel Katz discussed widening military operations, while Israel’s public broadcaster said the army had prepared plans for a broader offensive awaiting final political approval.
Cross-border fighting between Israel and Hezbollah has escalated repeatedly since the Gaza war began, raising fears of a wider regional conflict involving Lebanon, Iran and allied armed groups.
International mediators, including the United States and France, have pushed for de-escalation along the Israel-Lebanon border, warning that a broader war could destabilize the wider Middle East.
