Mother of four killed in motorcycle accident involving Belize Coast Guard officer
By Belize Live News Staff: Officials are investigating a tragic late-night motorcycle accident on Santa Familia Road in the Cayo District that claimed the life of a mother of four.
The victim has been identified as Auria Ramon, who was riding as a passenger on a motorcycle Friday night when the fatal crash occurred.
Preliminary information suggests the motorcycle was traveling toward Santa Familia Village when the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle. Ramon suffered severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Information emerging from the investigation indicates that the motorcycle was reportedly being driven by Ramon’s common-law husband, who is said to be an officer with the Belize Coast Guard.
Police and emergency personnel responded to the scene shortly after reports of the accident surfaced around 10:20 p.m. Investigators continue to process evidence and determine the circumstances that led to the deadly crash.
The investigation remains ongoing.
