Bentley Brooklands Coupé
Bentley Brooklands (Second Generation)
Black Bentley Brooklands Coupé at Arkhangelskoye Estate (Moscow Region, Russia)
The Bentley Brooklands Coupé is a two-seater hardtop coupé based on the Bentley Azure convertible, which is itself a derivative of the Bentley Arnage. Hand-built in limited numbers using traditional methods, the car is the successor to the discontinued Bentley Continental R and T. A total of 550 cars were produced, with deliveries beginning in 2008 and production ending three years later.
Under the bonnet of the Brooklands lies a 6.75-litre Rolls-Royce V8 engine with twin turbochargers and overhead valves. It produces 530 HP and 1,050 Nm of torque, which was a record for production petrol V8s at the time. The Brooklands accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in around 5 seconds, and its top speed is approximately 296 km/h. A braking system featuring carbon-fibre-reinforced ceramic composite and 14-inch SGL Carbon brake discs was available as an option (only with 20-inch wheels). The coupé features a pillarless design, with no central pillar between the windows.
The release of the Brooklands in 2011 marked the end of the line for the last Rolls-Royce Crewe platform, signalling the end of the era of the old Rolls-Royce.
