Maserati GranTurismo (First Generation)

Maserati GranTurismo (M145) Gray Maserati GranTurismo MC in Andorra The Maserati GranTurismo is a Gran Turismo sports car manufactured by the Italian automaker Maserati. The first-generation GranTurismo (M145) debuted at the Geneva Motor Show in 2007, and Maserati produced it until December 2019. Maserati unveiled the second-generation GranTurismo II (M189) in 2022 and began production in April 2023. GranTurismo I The first generation of the Maserati GranTurismo debuted at the Geneva Motor Show in 2007, and Maserati produced it until December 2019. The GranTurismo went down in automotive history as the fastest-developed car: Maserati took just nine months to move from concept to production. Maserati achieved this because the company considered the creation of a new coupe too costly, while the Ferrari division of FIAT Chrysler Automobiles needed a compact model. As a result, Ferrari introduced the Ferrari California, and Maserati lost its coupe. This engine produces 405 HP and is paired with a 6-speed ZF automatic transmission. The 2+2 coupe is built on the Maserati M139 platform, which is also used in the Maserati Quattroporte. The front suspension features double wishbones, while the rear suspension is a multi-link setup. The drag coefficient is 0.33. GranTurismo S (2008–2012) A sportier S variant was unveiled at the 2008 Geneva Motor Show, featuring a 4.7-liter V8 engine (440 HP) paired with a 6-speed Graziano Trasmissioni transmission. Standard suspension features steel shock absorbers, with adaptive Skyhook suspension available as an option. It includes upgraded Brembo brakes and various seat trim options. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes 4.9 seconds, with a top speed of 295 km/h. GranTurismo MC (2009–2010) The Maserati GranTurismo MC is a race-prepared version of the Maserati GranTurismo S. Maserati developed it for participation in the FIA GT4 European Cup. The GranTurismo MC uses the same 4.7-liter V8 engine as the GranTurismo S, but Maserati tuned it to deliver a maximum output of 450 horsepower (331 kW). GranTurismo MC Sport Line (2009–2019) The GranTurismo MC Sport Line, introduced in 2008, is a customization program inspired by the GranTurismo MC concept. Key changes include carbon-fiber front and rear spoilers, carbon-fiber mirror housings and door handles, and 20-inch wheels. The interior features carbon-fiber trim on the steering wheel, paddle shifters, instrument panel, and door panels. GranTurismo MC Stradale (2011–2015) In September 2010, Maserati announced the GranTurismo MC Stradale for the Paris Motor Show. It is a two-seater supercar with 331 kW (450 HP). It is 110 kg lighter than the GranTurismo (curb weight 1,670 kg) and has better aerodynamics, while maintaining the same fuel economy. The MC Stradale has a 6-speed MC Race Shift automated manual transmission with “Automatic,” “Sport,” and “Race” modes. Top speed: 303 km/h. At the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, an updated version of the MC Stradale was unveiled, featuring a 4.7-liter V8 engine producing 460 HP and 520 N·m of torque. The top speed remained at 303 km/h. GranTurismo Sport (2012–2019) The GranTurismo Sport was unveiled in March 2012 at the Geneva Motor Show. The upgraded 4.7-liter engine produces 460 HP. A six-speed ZF automatic transmission is now standard equipment. A new redesigned front bumper and aerodynamic splitter reduce the drag coefficient from Cd=0.33 to 0.32. GranCabrio I (2010–2019) The GranCabrio is a convertible version of the GranTurismo. The car features a folding fabric roof. The GranCabrio retains the four-seat interior of the GranTurismo coupe.
