The Deepal S07 (Shēnlán S07) is a mid-size crossover produced since 2023 by Deepal, a subsidiary of Changan Automobile. The model was previously known as the Deepal S7. Changan developed the Deepal S07 in collaboration with Huawei and CATL.
The Deepal S07 is built on Changan’s EPA1 platform, as are the S05, G318 and L07 models.
Overview
The Deepal S07 features a 12.3-inch HUD and a horizontal central screen running Huawei DriveONE. The infotainment system is based on HarmonyOS, and all components are powered by Snapdragon 8155 chips. The batteries are supplied by CATL.
The Deepal S07 is available in two versions: EV and EREV. In the EV version, the motor output is 218 or 258 HP. The EREV version features a 238 HP electric motor and a 1.5-litre petrol engine producing 95 HP.
The Deepal S07 has a drag coefficient of 0.258 Cd. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes 6.7 seconds.
2024 Update
The vehicle is now equipped with Huawei’s “Qiankun Smart Driving” ADS SE autonomous driving system, which utilises visual technologies for intelligent control. The Deepal S07 is capable of driving safely on motorways and urban expressways. Its features include lane-change assistance, collision avoidance and convenient parking in perpendicular, parallel and diagonal spaces.
The EREV powertrain includes a 1.5-litre JL473QJ engine, which acts as a range extender with a maximum power output of 70 kW. It is paired with a 175 kW electric motor and a 39.05 kWh ShenXing battery from CATL. Depending on conditions, the Deepal S07 can travel 215 km or 285 km on pure electric power. Fast charging allows the battery to be recharged from 30% to 80% in 15 minutes.
