Hyundai Santa Fe (Fifth Generation)

Hyundai Santa Fe (MX5) Hyundai Santa Fe (Smartstream G2.0 T-GDi) at GITEX 2026 (Marrakesh) The Hyundai Santa Fe is a series of crossovers manufactured by the South Korean company Hyundai since 2000. It comprises five generations. The city of Santa Fe, New Mexico, gave its name to this model. The first Santa Fe debuted in 2001 and became Hyundai’s first SUV. V Generation (MX5) Hyundai created the MX5 in response to the growing popularity of outdoor recreation. Its angular design and aerodynamic shape reduce drag to 0.29, which is 0.04 better than the previous generation. The length has increased by 55 mm (2.2 inches), the width remains the same, and the wheelbase is 50 mm (2.0 inches) longer. The headlights and taillights are H-shaped. A light strip runs across the entire width of the front grille. The taillights are located on the tailgate, directly above the rear bumper. The wheel arches also have an angular shape. The Santa Fe will be Hyundai’s first electric vehicle with an extended range. Production of the EREV version will begin in 2026, with sales starting in 2027. The gearshift lever has been moved to the steering column, freeing up space for two wireless charging pads and a pair of cup holders on the center console. A panoramic curved display has been added, combining the digital instrument cluster and the infotainment system. The suspension architecture and main components of the previous-generation Santa Fe have been retained. However, the cooling system, friction, and other parameters have been redesigned. The powertrain lineup now includes a 2.5-liter gasoline engine, a 2.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine, a 1.6-liter turbocharged hybrid engine, and a 1.6-liter plug-in hybrid engine. Diesel engines and the V6 gasoline engine previously offered in Australia are not available for this generation.
