SHARM EL-SHEIKH, Egypt / PNN/Israel and Hamas have reached an agreement to end the war in Gaza, according to multiple international news agencies. The deal, announced late Wednesday in the Egyptian resort city of Sharm El-Sheikh, includes a complete ceasefire, the withdrawal of Israeli forces, the entry of humanitarian aid, and a prisoner exchange.U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed the development in a post on his platform, Truth Social, saying the parties had signed the first phase of his “Comprehensive Peace Plan.”“I am pleased to announce that Israel and Hamas have signed the first phase of our peace plan,” Trump wrote. “This means all hostages will soon be released, and Israel will withdraw its forces to an agreed line as a first step toward a strong and lasting peace.”Trump described the agreement as “a great day for the Arab and Islamic worlds, for Israel, for all neighbouring nations, and for the United States,” adding that “all sides will be treated fairly.” He thanked mediators from Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey for helping to achieve what he called a “historic and unprecedented event,” adding, “Blessed are the peacemakers.”The Qatari Foreign Ministry confirmed that all terms and mechanisms for implementing the first phase of the ceasefire in Gaza had been agreed upon.
